Quick question for you.....which is likely the "best" among the hotels in CR?

You want the Quinsam Hotel. Beer parlour downstairs and a nice view of the Petrocan. If you're lucky you might get a cover band.

Yes, and April Point is really nice as well

I used to stay at the Campbell River Lodge right on the river. It was rustic but we could take boats out of there at high tide. Rooms had all the amenities but were not very clean.

Go with painters then you can go out for the night bite! in one of the lodge boats

Stay at a B&B. So much better than hotels and cheaper!! If you haven't tried one, you should!!
