Hook safety/holder for knot tying.

Time to tie up some anchovy rigs. What device or tool do you use to ensure the hook/s don’t jab you while your tying things up. I’m tired of almost getting stuck. Particularly when tying trailing hooks which can be tricky. Do you have a small vice or other tool that simplify things and allows for clean knot tying? I’ve tried pliers but they’re not that effective.

I like to use common sense and basic dexterity. But if you're looking for a safety you can use anything on hand to protect the point of the hook like a small piece of rubber or cork.

I use egg loop knots when tying tandem hook anchovy rigs with mono or flouro so the trailing hook is tied first. I just hold the hook with the rubber covered plier handle to pull against for tightening the knots. No slip, no stick😁
Tying a trailing loop on a treble with braid for an optional stinger is a little bit trickier and I use the plastic loop of my scissor handles to hold one hook while cinching things up.
