I thought you canadians where tough? what do you need heaters for?
I also have the Propane heater I use to use on my outboard boat but it is a no no on the I/O a least down here. I due like my red dot heater on my boat no fumes to mess with.

I have one of the Mr Heater units but it seems that the tilt shutoff would kick the unit off with every wave that passes the boat. Anyone have any background / problems with these units. I have a 20' North River with a bracket. Thanks for any input---RAH
Propane needs a mix of just 2.5% for ignition thats all- its heavier than air and will tend to settle on the bottom of the boat where it will accumulate and any spark could ignite it.
if you go the propane route you may want to consider a propane /co detector.
Personally I get nervous about propane on the boat.
be sure to always check for leaks everytime you use it with soapy water not a bic lighter - yes some knuckle headsdo that
I use the propane bottle in a milk crate with the heater head, like wolf( I have a 17'soft top).. Works great..And if you want to heat your pizza in foil or do grill cheese sandwhiches, just rotate the head so it is like a propane stove...LOL
I am guessing there is a safety sensor that shuts it off when it tips over causing that. The great part about having heat and a porta pottie or marine head gets the wife to go fishing with me. She is a pretty good fisherman or fisherwoman. Heat sure makes the difference between comfortable fishing and not. I really like to winter fish when it gets cold. Less boats and sometimes really flat water.
