Received a nice new fly rod combo (ready to go) from Outdoor Sports. Also received a donation from Alberni Outpost. We have received commitments from Canadian Tire, Walmart, Nanaimo Marine Chandler, and Westwood Marine. There will be some nice new gear in the sale. What we are not seeing yet is your gear. Please go through your stuff and get it in ASAP as we do need some time to price and organize and we are only weeks away from the sale. Thanks guys, I know you'll come through for the hatchery.

Okay folks, we are coming down to the wire very quickly now, so all those who have promised gear and all who have not had time to reply, PLEASE get your spare stuff in to us. We want to ensure that the sale does the Hatchery some real good, and we need your help to make that happen.

Great! We need all the gear we can get to make sure that the selection is huge, and the hatchery ends up with a much needed boost.
We received a sizable donation of new goods from Gone Fishing (Nanaimo) yesterday, including knife set, reel, Convergence, wading boots, rod building kit. We also received a good selection of gear from Big Chrome, including rods, reels, flashers, electronics.

This is an awesome event that has only just a few individuals donating their time in order to organize, collect & store donations until the sale, all done for the benefit of the fish and to help encourage substantial change in our fisheries by creating a footprint that absolutely does make one hell of a difference for this small underfunded local salmon fish hatchery. The individuals who helped make this event possible, have continued to donate their time and effort to the cause. These folks all deserve our support and help in getting donations for this annual event.
Last year I personally donated a huge sum of tackle, rods, reels, lures, PFD and electronics... the following images are what I gave to to the sale to help raise much needed funds that are dedicated to good fish related programs.
My personal challenge to everyone, is for you to take ten minutes out of your busy day to pick at least (3) three items out of your personal collection of fishing tackle or marine related gear, and donate it to this years fund raising sale - I'd love to see you exceed my last years donation...that would be absolutely awesome!

I am excited to see the end results of this event & sale, so far everyone who has donated has gone well beyond our expectations, again thank you for all that you have done. You have all inspired me to dig deeper into my own personal goods, in order to help pull out some more cool **** to help with this sale. Without me, you have truly done a bang up job on your own in order to help save the fish. Please make this sale event the largest, best fish helping event for today, and for our futures, futures. Yesterday we received a nice donation from Walmart for the sale, plus a goods donation from Nanaimo Marine Chandler. We also received a sizable donation of boat and fishing gear from Sculpin. Thanks!!!!!

No worries mate. Thank you Jim, RVP, and Clyde for donating your TIME!!! It is amazing what you guys are doing. If I can find the time to sort through my stuff I'm sure there are lot's of folks out there that can as well. It doesn't take much to put together a little box or bag of anything that could be sold at this fundraiser. If you don't have anything to donate come on down to the sale and pick up some INCREDIBLE deals on tackle, boating stuff, etc. It is for a great cause.

This is the start of my personal donation for this year...I'd really like to encourage other anglers to meet or exceed what I am giving up in order to help this important cause. At the very least, please take 15 minutes out of your busy schedule to peruse through all of your fishing and marine related gear, then pick at least three items to donate to the Nanaimo River Fish Hatchery, a well deserved totally underfunded facility that is devoted to developing substantial change. Better get up early man. All the good stuff goes fast! I went late last year and missed out on the best deals.
Starts @ 9:00 a.m but the lineup starts way earlier. It will go to 1:00 ish. There will be some incredible stuff auctioned or raffled off periodically.

The Nanaimo River Fish Hatchery is a well deserved facility that duly needs the help from the angling public and from citizens around BC who may enjoy local tidal waters surrounding Vancouver Island. Thank you for posting this information Jim – and especially thanks to all the individuals whom both donated items to sell in the fundraiser and to thous who will attend and make purchases of gear & items they may need. Going full circle everyone who participates basically becomes a major contributor in helping raise funds to keep as many of the programs rolling as possible.
Thank you for helping to fund raise monies that will go directly into developing substantial change in our fisheries, right here in British Columbia.
