Looking for some good, safe spots to harvest clams, mussels etc near sunshine coast?

Any info on time of year and tips woukd be appriciated.

I was wondering this summer why areas 20-5, 6,7 are open and 20-1,2,3,4 are not?

Coliforms, I belive. Needless to say I have been hitting area 20-5,6,7 this summer.

Seems odd that 29-1 is closed year round. - I know the concern is probably septic/sewage, but there are still a lot of beaches that haven't been built up much.

Not sure how 29-1 differs from ECVI though... but, maybe it's just easier to paint the regs with a broad brush

I harvest in Area 15 and find it hard to know if your in a farm or not seems on my GPS there is one on every corner any tips to help identify is is easy enough to figure if it is closed or not in the regulations.

Could be right. I bet when the Fraser really lets go there are plenty of coliforms. I think they move the goalposts on those things too every year based on what is acceptable.

Good point, but it used to get real muddy out there during flood back in the day. Not as much these days, but it still happens....
