Halibut report.

Wolf, I got some good pics with the digital of you harpooning one. Turned out nice with the fresh snow covered hills in the background. We took about 6 total and there all pretty sweet. Didn't see any Tailspin Decals on my boat did ya??? LOL

hey maddog thanks can you send them to my home e-mail,

Well went out again today got 5 nice ones biggest was a 55 lber the rest in the 30 to 40 lb range very nice sunny day till next week

Good luck Wolf

Congrats guys on the hali's Finally got out tonight my boats running like a top over 30 mph top speed not bad for a 17.5 with a classic 50 merc the best part of the trip was greated by a Grey whale as I was aproaching comox harbour tonight. After 3 months of refit puts my mind at ease now that I know all is well. I have true bottom on my sounder up to 300 ft at 25 mph love it. I have a rooster tail off my tranducer but if it ain't broke why fix it. Can't wait to fish for hali's got all the gear after watching your posts but I am a smart skipper and will pick my times to seek this adventure. Thanks for all the tips.

Cheers ME aka Kevin

Happy Hookin!!!

kev you need to bring it up a bit so it is level with the hull a piece of wood may hit it and then you wont sound anything LOL then youll need to fix it

Good luck Wolf

I got to agree with Wolf on this one. I had the same as you, I was about 1/4 inch lower than the hull and had rooster tail. I raised to hull level and even got a slight speed inprovement with no ill effects to the sounding at high speed.

I am going to raise it slightly but was locked on bottom up to 1050 feet yesterday. It was a fantastic day on the water 1 under sized chinook 1 ling thrown back and 2 sole. Lots of sun and a whole lot of fun <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> Sorry for the hijack on this thread

Cheers ME

Happy Hookin!!!

Way too much traffic for me Commercial prawn boat ran right through us after you pulled out, Good times, Still Had the pick dug in, mid anchor pull and guess what??? He turned, Came down hard on our stern between our scottsman and us!!!!! Finnally pulled free and doubled back on our line and hard. Just missed our slack by maybe 20 meters...Shoulda shot a nice 5 min. rocket over his bow... LOL He saw our ball after the fact... Its all good Im done with weekend traffic..... Lol
