Halibut Prime Time

What is considered the best time of the year to have a reasonable chance of catching a halibut closer inshore around the Bamfield/Barkley Sound area. Have looked at the threads but can't seem to find any info. which
would suggest the best months.

How deep is shallow for halibut?

ive caught them as shallow as 60ft

Think they'd chase a plug 20' off bottom? I caught a 90cm Hali at 65' in 85' of water. At the time I wondered if it was suspended at that depth or maybe it did come up off the bottom?
