Congratulations everyone! With the wind and tequila this weekend I didnt make it out. Now waiting until my other halfs next day off to get out. Next week/forever. I will skip work for fishing he wont lol. So working on tackle and figuring out currents and charts. Got a nice harpoon.
Can I ask, right where you see that wire coming out by that little fin, thats the kill spot? Right behind the gill plate bone. Sort of aim for that little fin? Right on the lateral line.

any one hear of any hali's caught around sidney area on the weekend ?.tried to troll fairfax didnt hit the tide right got nil on the troll for salmon.

yup.. a good gut shot, right through. no cheek or meat damage, and ya wont strike a big bone and end up with the poon tip sideways and or half way through.

Not sure if they post everything weighed in but if your fish beat 75.8lbs you could be in 3rd place. They have posted one in the 50's, a 75, a 97 and a 113 so far.
Kinda funny the annual leaderboard will be set in these two weeks. I think 1st prize is a nice Hali rod with reel. I think the winner of the salmon leaderboard wins an islander and rod so it's probably a good setup. They give out other prizes too no idea what they are.

Pulled up 4 hali this weekend. Nothing big but nice to get some white fish on the table.
Saw lots of fish at the dock. (and more boats than ever)
Think I saw the 113. That crew was fired up! LOL
Great weekend on the water.
Currents are crappy for a while now. I wouldn't be going Wednesday on the West side. Be safe out there Falcon.
