Halibut in 25 '

Since we cannot fish for much these days. We planned a couple of dive trips to Barclay Sound area. Dove 8 times and for the first time saw halibut under water. We actually touched a few which was pretty cool, I must say. Saw 12 halibut in total. Most were in the 15# range.
There were some bigger ones in the 30-40 # range a little deeper.
Also gathered 30 spare cannon balls and a couple of very tasty box crab. What a great week...weather perfect every day. The prawning was great too. Looking forward to another great year ! Thanks for all the great stories...happy fishing ! Slick

Yes some cannon balls had clips. 7 in total. 29 balls with good eyes.
Most were 12-15 # balls. Very good catch.
Slick.

Hell no, it was the sight of a 16th century Brigantine gun-battle.

If that's so...can't wait for the next gun battle !!!! Somewhat popular fishing area...can't tell you or I'd have to kill you - LOL ! Will be back there jigging once halibut season opens.
