I saw this posted in the marina window when I got back late this afternoon.
Took a picture with my phone and didn't notice that it is put out by the "B.C. Sportfishing Coalition".
Good work guys keep up the fight.

All the sudden there is 400k anglers...........

Don't get me wrong.... I like it. But we lower ourselves to their level if we start makin stuff up... Jus thinkin out loud

I know that we are multiplying, I just didn't know it was at that rate.
Or,,,, perhaps we have adopted the same accounting policies of DFO? :p

Some of these comments make me wonder!
The BC SPORTS FISHING COALITION is working hard for us yet some want to call their work into question.
Maybe we have a few CLOSET TROLLS here!
 
I would not give a number and change to Canadian anglers as I am sure that all anglers in Canada coast to coast agree.
 
how come every single time that some one raises a objective question on here that some one brings out that stupid troll word a labels them with it, ya that right millertime lipripper is a troll thats his m.o. to be on this site for 4 years with 1448 post and them when the opportunity presents it's self whamoo he strikes to win as a freaking closet troll. give your head a shake
 
Cmon guys lets vent our frustrations on where it needs to go WE are all frustrated because we alll know its not FAIR... so go kick a pillow, split some wood, or even better write another letter to all you have before!!!!!!! we need to keeep the pressure on and donr fight between us THATS what they want you to do fight that sea cow back east she deserves it alot more (look at the big picture our younger generation growing up we need to fight for them)

not making stuff up - there 'are' 400k anglers as in 400k saltwater fisherman that 'could' want and are legally allowed to fish for halibut. The assumption though is that 100k of those will actually fish for halibut.

I thought I read on this site more than once in discussions that there wasn't 400k licences sold it was closer to 300k. In B.C. If it was Canadian recreational anglers I could see that and if people jumped on board from the east coast not with respect to the halibut but privatization of fisheries in gerneral. That could be good.
I have read many articles that have come from slippers with inaccuracies that are quickly picked off by many board members and to me it makes the articles less credible.

I'll bet IronNoggin, Charlie or one of you other Computer savey fellows, could do a D.F.O. search and find out EXACTLY how many Tidal licenses were sold over the last 10 yrs.

ahh, ok, you are right, hard to find, but found it - its 300k, not 400k, so yeah, they did mess up that poster unfortunately. Oh well, they can mislead with the word 'conservation' and I guess we will mislead with sample size even though it makes no real difference in the grand scheme of things.

I have just emailed it to harper, shea and duncan (they don't deserve capitals..IMHO) along with my opinion!

Now imagine if EVERYONE reading these pages did the same! We will have an inpact!

07/08 is when all this shiat came down and look surprise surprise revenue droppped from then on "I WONDER WHY" oh yeah its that rocket science again.

I will garentee you one thing there is no way in hell that Commercial fishing brings that amout into the canadien economy...... what a fricken joke if anyone votes for conservatives and is a fisherman they need a CT scan done on their brain!!!!!
