Halibut and Boat Size.

Good weather or not no thanks!! Hope you have solid motor/hp, dual batteries, kicker with charging unit, radio, GPS sounder, hand held GPS, survival suits, tow rope, tool box and extra plugs ect., radar deflector, and on.

Got all the above except plugs , look 20 miles is no big deal the weather counts the most , some times a smaller boat will work like a cork and big 20 foot rollers are no problem don't be in a hurry and watch the weather even ' big ships ' can go down in bad weather
PS I'am not nuts just careful again and watch the winds and listen to your radio

The motor is well looked after and runs great, that being said it is almost 15 years old and "anything" could happen at anytime. As stated I do have a kicker but am on the hunt on getting a newer one, I have a handheld VHF radio, i have a depth sounder I have a handheld dash-mount GPS, I have tow rope and a toolbox, with many things added slowly over the years from experience I do not carry plugs with me, I change them yearly though. I also have a flare gun, air horn( obviously) and hand held flares. But as I said I am going to wait on heading out to constance and just enjoy Oak Bay for the time being.
Thanks for everyones input here. Before posting or joining I was thinking of just heading out there to check the area out but have decided to hold off for now.
