The Commercial Herring Quota. Like I said if you don't mind catching small salmon and a limit of one you have nothing to worry about. What are we protesting?
Overage is deducted from the next years quota, however unused quota can not be brought forward to the next year. That is the rule it as simple as that. Why can't they move that unused quota to the 2026 season?
If we go over they are quick to take it off the next season![]()
Don't worry be happy, everything is peachy.Anything
Herring population is doing great.. perhaps take the time to read the data on herring and for the most part are in a building trend and are continuing tooThe Commercial Herring Quota. Like I said if you don't mind catching small salmon and a limit of one you have nothing to worry about.
There have been on a rebuilding trend for a while and there has been no directed commercal fishery on thoses stock except for fn roe and kelp fisheries .
Okay I get it your buying into the nonsense that there are more urgent matters than herring for the Salmon stocks. I also understand that you are happy with regularly catching small salmon sub 20lbs and that your happy with the one Chinnok limit. Unfortunately the herring quota to Commercial was raised last year after a substantial reduction over the 5 years before that. If you think that a Salmon can mature over 30 lbs on needle fish good luck with that one. Talk to any old time Islander and you will find just from the herring spawn that it's a tiny fraction of what it has been historically. It's sad that there are clones like you that are eating the BS that you are feed. Want information, look at the end of your fishing line. That's what I use to form an opinion. No worries on SOG herring... many other more important issues....
Now the dog fish will be used against us, because they are a stock of concern.Im more worried about dog fish now .....
Did you say Southern Resident Dogfish? Truly endangered. We need to set up some dogfish sanctuaries - the recovery plan needs to close broad areas of the best dogfish habitat and protect it from pesky recreational halibut fishers who get dogfish as bycatch. I hear all of Areas 121, 20, 19 have high intensity dogfish encounters - we need doggie sanctuaries.Im more worried about dog fish now .....
Lol... enjoy your life .... Funny how this same **** comes up every year at the same time during herring spawn season...then the noise just goes away.
Wow !!Well if you weren't angry enough, the U.S. sports allocation is out.
HahahahaENGO donation cycle lol
