Government dock questions.

I tow up from near San Francisco about every 2 years. I see government docks, as well as private docks. What are the rules and cost on government docks? Difference from private marinas? How many days can you tie up at a government dock? Couple years ago, was having trouble finding a slip in Ganges. Did not know if I could use government dock.

You can tie up to most Govenment docks. Most of them have a sign indicating how long you can stay, and how much you have to pay. The one in Ganges I believe is free for the first 2 hours, the one in nanaimo has some free spots for a few hours, the one at Galiano island Provincial park they expect you to pay for the day right away. If I recall correctly, the prices are often around the $2.00 per Meter, or 3 feet.
