Going Down!!!

How long do you think this downward pricing is going to last? The gas stations here in the Comox Valley have been in collusion for so long it's pathetic. Have you not noticed the yoyo manipulation that they utilize here? The price slowly falls over a week or so then spikes 10 cents, then slowly falls again, then spikes. This Comox Valley has the worst example of price fixing in B.C..;) eman

Be glad you have a price war.......here in Qualicum they consistently rip us off, when towns north and south and west of us have lower prices at the same time. Port Alberni is usually ALWAYS cheaper than here...although it takes more expense to get the gasoline to that place. Seeing as how stations continually manipulate the price between stations and areas....so much for the bunk and excuses they come up with to raise the price. Also I notice on the pump where the sticker is that breaks down the cost of gas.....it shows the HST is still a component of the price.......????....

Well, since Costco started the war, it has saved me a LOT of bucks. All summer I have been able to fill the boat (as well as the truck) for 4 to15 cents per liter less, compared to Campbell River and Parksville. But what is really the deal maker for me is the .05/liter reduction that Safeway gives with grocery purchases over $35. Fix away boys!!! We are doing better than other areas on the Rock.

Thats nothing guys, look to the North, Port McNeill is 139.9 and there is ony two gas sations....no gas wars etc. Talk about price fixing...they say it costs $.10/l+ to transport the gas from CR. Thats BS, but there is nothing anybody can do about it.

Cheers

Gas prices... we all hate to pay to much.
What perked my ear last year when the government told us we need gateway so we could raise the price of Alberta crude. Did they not tell us that we are selling it at $45 less then WTI. How would that effect the price we pay at the pump if such a hare brain idea went through? Forget it... I'll just go back and watch those nice commercials that are playing on TV..... you know the ones with all the water colours or the the nice birds at the tarsands.

Pretty sure Nanaimo has the worst consistent prices in the central/south island. 129.9 here still... I remember a couple of months ago (for a month or two on end) when it was 129.9 here and 107.9 everywhere else from Ladysmith south.... hmmm

Spent the winter in Galveston TX. gas was 2.80 US gal about .75 liter didn't vary much although every station was a different price. No price fixing like Canada. We are getting ripped off plain and simple.
