Planning a short trip in May with a few buddies. The parts if this agenda seems to be pretty standard for most guys on this site: Launch boat, fish around Bowen, go to marina in gibsons, drop stuff at hotel, find pub, get hammered, sleep, get up, fish, go home and tell wives fishing was great.
Any marina or hotel advise for Gibsons?

Gibsons Marina is the spot 604-886-8686 .....it has a decent boat launch and moorage and the Ritz Inn ritzinn.com is about 100 yards up from the Marina - Ritz is basic motel and includes muffins/coffee breakfast . Over 100 bucks but great location only block from Marina . About 1/2 a mile down the seawall walk from marina is Grammas pub - great pub with nice deck looking over Marina. Also try out the Oyster Bar on the boardwalk below Molly's Reach and the Govn't dock. Fish Grace, Salmon rock/Gap, Hutt,Tunstall, South Bowen, or Gower to Camp Byng. Crabbing off Gower to Roberts Creek.

First of all dont fish Bowen... run down to trail island then head about 2miles out... No man's land... stack your gear 200ft to 100ft,, ull hit fish...Hit the oyster bar at the old Smitty's marina next to the Gov dock... Stafford run's the place.. good guy... then party at Grandma's or the black fish pub at the top of Gibson's... (Grandma's is on the water next to the oyster bar... Hotel's suck.... grab a B&B... this little town can party at night... you wouldn't believe it... fishing still sucks there tho...lol

This is going to turn into a no riggers trip. The only place I've ever seen live herring is Pender Harbor where it's a sin to troll. Thinking of jigging some spoons around the popular spots. Not sure how far our we will get. 21' jet won't feel good in much chop.
