Gas will go to $1.299 this weekend in Victoria.
So $1.50 is really not far off, it's amazing when the cost of crude
was almost the same as it was last year at this time and gas was
only .969 a litre.[V]

Roy, I think the seals are even worse so far this year, Possesion is likly not going to be a viable option without a cull of some sort.[V] They have been scooping fish at the Trap already.

I sure Like my Powerstroke at only $1.01 a litre right now.

...we burned just under 180L in Uci on a night and morning fish on Wed and Thurs, plus $100 beans in fuel to drive up and back to Nanaimo, it was a quick trip. The weather was great the company and food was awesome, fishing was ok - I have seen better years at this time of the season...our target was salmon, ling and hali. Was it worth the trip? Oh, hell ya! I was great fun...even got to chat with a few buddies that I had not seen in a long time. [8D]

But don't they wack you on a guide fee there? A buddy of mine was going to setup there, and they were talking percentages of his total????

Well maddog the 20% is for what??? fuel and bait well if you are like me I but 2 cases of bait before hand and all the hooks beadchains,teaser heads etc like I know you do because we love trotac LOL all on my boat so you get 20% off of fuel but you will burn that up just going to the race rocks can boy and then a whopping charter fee, sorry but that wouldnt convince me of that.

When I run from SS to whiifen spit it takes me exactly 6 mins of calm flat water then I can go to right to otter or left to trap or possesion and if it is anything like the last couple of years otter was hot all summer. But like I said before if i had your money I would burn mine LOL LOL

You gotta ask why is there so many charter guys running from sooke harbour and jocks and sunny shores simple "cost"

All this liter talk drives me crazy. It was a real shame that you switched to metric. But you still measure you fish in pounds. When is the switch to kilos? The gas prices are a killer here and up there but nothing like being out on the water and hearing that reel screaming it makes it all worth while. May have to run my honda kicker more this year.

Our gallons were bigger than yours, and the beer is stronger, and your right, just bought a spool of 20 lb test, for some reason we fish in feet and pounds. Who knows why?

Maybe Canada switched to metric because the visionary government of the 70's feared an adverse reaction to their knowledge that 30 years down the road one liter of gas would cost twice as much as an imperial gallon cost then. 4.55 l/g x $1.30/l = $5.92 per gallon.

I do like you beer better than ours and your women. (I married a Canadian) Your gallon is not only bigger but seems to be much more expensive too. I would think with all that oil up there you would have cheap gas. But at least we don't have to everything printed in French.

I think that the reason you went metric was it doesn't seem as bad to spend 1.30 for a liter vs. 5.00 for a gallon. I think we had plans to switch but the people who control the system didn’t want to learn a new system. A 30 lb Springer sounds so much better than 13 kilos.

Actually no with the signing of the North American free trade agreement we lost control of all our natural resources to you from South of the medicine line , we are now obligated to sell you the greater percentage of our oil production and must buy back our own oil and gas from the major players (Exxon , Mobil etc) at whatever price they choose , so you see we really are Americans economically only we fly the Maple Leaf flag.

Does that mean you have bush as your leader too? God save us all. I did realize that you signed over all your oil too. The US goverment sells the peoples oil to big oil so they can rape us. What can you do I dicided that I needed to benifit so I invested in those oil companies and it has paid off pretty well the last few years.

Yeah I hear you Battaglino regardless of the country we live in the political leaders are not interested in the ordinary person only when wars need to be fought and massive profits need to be directed to the multi nationals to help fill the re election campaign funds que pasa ?
You should obtain a copy of the NAFTA document if you can , here in Canada you cannot obtain the full issue , maybe you can get it, the parts I have managed to access are a disaster for us North of the medicine line ....trust me ! , the next items up for gauranteed shipment to you are power(which California still wont pay us for from 7 years ago); water and , if you didn't know you can actually access and dictate our education systems along with requiring us to put Coca Cola and other American vending machines in the schools etc etc etc

I know what you mean about the control of the goverment by multi nationals. I work for the US goverment and you see I see it all the time. But we do live in the best countries in the world and I have been to many and none compare to them. I'm trying to convince my wife to move to bc but having trouble selling her on the idea.
