Funny/Amazing youtube thread

Agreed,KK. Owned two MR2's a few years back. Ya,sweet reels for sure, but as your said, can buy 5 Shimano's for that
price. The drags are just as good on them, and cheap to replace.Sold my islanders used for $700,bought 3 brand new
4000 GT's and still had $300 left over!

Not trying to be confrontational, but I ran both a new 4000gt and a new Islander MR3 side by side for my rods all of this year, as i didn't quite have the funds to purchase my second MR3....And the drag is substantially better on the MR3. Not to say that the Shimano isn't decent, it's just that the MR3 is so much smoother, by a wide margin.

MY Dad and I also ran them up against each other and we take turns using both sets of gear. I could see no viable difference in the new GT 4000 WP Drag and my MR3. As my dad and I already discovered its all about the money you want to spend. I might even switch back over to shimano after this MR3. Why not only risk 100$ at a time rather then 550$

I don't know many Porsche drivers who sell there car to buy 5 Honda's :p haha

Just got my first pair of Islanders (MR2) and man are they slick. I've used MR3's to date but decided to try the MR2 in other applications where I thought it was better suited than the MR3 (jigging, mooching). Given their cost, I know I will take very good care of them and will likely have the reels for many many years to come. I have no need to upgrade beyond an Islander so it will likely be the last pair of moochers I will need to buy (unless I get 2 more down the road).

I have a few Diawa M1s for thrashing around or if there are new anglers on board....but after experiencing an Islander, its hard to go back.

Not to mention I like that the reel is designed and built in Canada.

Making of Abel Reels (reason why these types of reels are so expensive)....after watching this video...damn these Abel reels are the top of the ladder!

Those Abel reels with a quick search start at $500 but man, what unique fly reel.

F@#k,I'm just pissin' myself laughing here. Never ever had that problem,so every time I see it happen,I just can't help
but "bust a gut".

Yup that guy had it pretty bad lol, Thank god most of my buddies who i take out are sea worthy.
Was that in California?

The beach they pulled up on in the end is Cape Kiwanda in Oregon. Great place! Epic sand dunes for the quad or dirt bike, great micro brewery right on the beach, and fun waves when there is swell.

That probably the first hot meal the seagull out there have had in weeks. lol

Heres one. Not very funny, but amazing.

Great until the dune buggy gets stuck because you didn't throttle up hard enough!! Damn those things aren't light! Cool how they beach the boat.

Uegene, Oregon is a great place to visit. A must is a Pizza from TrackTown next door to the University of Oregon.
