Free Weekday Travel for Seniors on BC Ferries Coming Back!

I doubt it on the fishing trips, in the past the free travel was only for the senior foot passengers, not sure if was also for car passengers, I know it definitely didn't include the senior plus his or vehicle

In past, it was anything on 2 legs - i.e walk on, driver or passenger in a car. Didn't include the vehicle. Monday thru Thursday. Saves about $7 over current half price fare. Whoopee!!

That is the way it was - but you have to show your BC Medical Card.

This to me makes perfect sense.
Encourages people who can, to use the routes at non peak times. Provide more clients for food services etc. when otherwise they would have fewer. Win,win as I see it! Whether the ferry is empty or full, it's going to run and has to be fully crewed, so you lose nothing and in fact gain on the mid week runs by having more people onboard.

Also makes the riders of the major routes feel better about the 25% discount cards for the minor routes and the proposed 15% rollback on them, not to mention the removal of bridge tolls on the mainland lol.
