Fraser Valley Flooding

Funny I seen a few die hards still trying to fish the river in these conditions, but won’t ly, I also thought about bring my rod LoL

Area used to be a lake 100 years ago. Like trying to hold back the tide. Maybe time to revisit how that land is used from season to season.
Trouble is, that's some of the most productive - and therefore valuable - agricultural land in a province that has precious little to begin with. What happens first is insurance cover will be withdrawn for low lying parcels - some may have already experienced this after the 2021 floods.

Will government step in at some point? Upgraded dikes? Land buy backs? Maybe co-fund the raising of the levee along the Nooksack?
