Fraser River Wildlife Management Area Proposal, thoughts?

Just saw this posted on the bcwf website, seemed like it could be a good step towards protecting much of the fish on the river.
What are your guys' thoughts on it? alot of organizations seem to be behind it.

Its actually quite scary to take this area out of the control of elected regional governments and give it to bureaucrats in the provincial government that answer to no one.
