Float Planes From Bamfield?

Rain City

Oh wise collective. How would someone get back to the city from Bamfield without a car? Buddy's planning on coming with me on the boat but is leaving earlier. Needs to sort out a way home.

I fly over a few times a year with pacific seaplane. The only problem is they need a few seats booked for them to make the flight.
Its 350 each way. There are often people flying out after the west coast trail tho so your buddy could get a seat. I did have to pay for 2 seats once when I had to get out and there was no one else booked. Getting to van in 45 min is pretty sweet tho. Mo

Does that just run to PA? I'm guessing there are busses to the ferry terminal from there?
No it arrives in PA around 5 pm and then you walk over to the railway station parking lot to your car there might be a bus the next day or you could hitchhike.

This is what locals use-if it works for you-don't look too close at the pic though.

Call Louis in Ucluelet. Cessna 180 float plane. $775 per flight hour. Might be a bit more with fuel prices right now.

too bad there is no scheduled later boat from port. first ferry over and depart port 9:30. without staying overnight , it is impossible to catch the frances broccoli. i understand though because they have to keep schedules up the inlet and get back at a reasonable time. Pacific seaplanes is great service. We got a pick up at Pitt Meadows for an extra 100.00 a few years ago. limits of course is baggage weight which is very expensive add on. getting fish home is spendy.

Ah right, never thought of that. Maybe I'll just get him to drive and I'll run the boat solo. Then he can take my first load of fish home with him too.

No can do. You can't transport other's fish anymore. You used to be able to provide a letter with certain key information on it and have someone do so but not anymore.
Ah shoot I thought I remembered someone saying that a while back. So what if you drop it off at a processor? I'm there for two weeks

um? yes you can, as long as the amount being transported is within personal limits.
