Flatfish, Anyone

Reading through the threads for the last year trying to learn the ins and outs of Salmon fishing I noticed that tons of guys use the Tomic and a few Lyman plugs, but do any of you use the Flatfish lures? I saw a post by Prawnhunter that he uses them for bass and big trout in the lakes on the island, but I haven't heard any of you mention them on any of the Salmon threads.

Any particular reason?

We used them exclusively for those big lakers I posted pics of so I'm wondering why they wouldn't be effective for Salmon or even fished deep for Hali and other ground fish.

Feedback? Opinions?

Bassblaster-- back at the dawn of time I used flatfish when casting to beach coho. They dont sink like a rock like a buzzbomb and they can be worked with a stop/go motion that coho seem to like. But while you see river fishermen using them especially in the north (Skeena etc)and in the States, I dont know of anyone that uses them for springs in salt.

Used to fish the Cap. river mouth for thoses non -biting cohoes many moons ago. Used to work pretty good when nothing else would :)

I've thought about it lots, as I have had guests bring them on trips and say they are the cats meow back home. Anyways, never found a guest who wanted to try something that I've never caught a fish on over the standards.
If it works for you let us know. I would guess staging fish at rivers mouths seems like a great place to try them but if you wrapped them like the river guides and plunked them in the ocean you're bound to catch something, just don't know how well it would work.
