Flashers for the Inside..Ladysmith up to Qualicum..and Telegraph Cove

Just outfitting my boat and have purchased some flashers, but I am curious if anyone has some ideas for flashers for that area.

I also take a big trip up to the fish off of McNeill past Malcom Island once a year so something for that area as well would be helpful.

Tried and True Abe n AL if it is winter fishing. Red/Silver and green/Silver as well in the summer. This is backside of Texada ie westside.

This past year, the Purple haze worked the best for me around Malcolm. I am a tried and true follower of the red/silver, but last year the purple haze out fished it....alot.

We will see if things have changed this year.

Personally found whenever I use purple haze it gets its butt outfished by almost any of my "go-to" flashers...green with gold interior and red with gold interior seem to work best depending on run going through...always try to match the color of the flasher with the colors in the back of the fish I find. Depending on where the run is from, the fish will have different colors on them and last year I actually found a lot of purplely in the backs so used a purple with glow on one side and gold on other side...it was a go to for quite a few weeks there...but that was when we were catching fish destined for WCVI.

Yea David, it was weird to see the PH working so well. I usually fish red/silver or red/gold, but the PH was doing it best to upset it and it did, especially in the early season, late june to mid july. That flasher and a PH teaser head did well.

This season it might be something else.

Great idea on "Matching the fish colour", will have to look at that.

thanks for the info...I have all of the ones that have been mentioned already..Just picked up a silver super betsy with the glow strip on the back. I will be mostly fishing out of Nanaimo...so if anyone has a specific nanaimo killer let me know...I have the green glow and green haze and betsy which is what most people have mentioned for the nanaimo area.

When we fish out of telegraph we don't go to Malcolm that much any more because of where we stay...we usually end up fishing off of flower island and the "wall" area.

You can fish anyhwere and catch fish. Yak on here does really well off Donegal to Lizard, I seem to do better off the top end, but the "wall" and flower to Bold is good as well.

Black & White

First time I had seen it done was last summer. Coloured water, resort owner was using an ALL WHITE flasher with one side painted black and then silver specks from a craft store sprinkled on the black. THEN clear coated. I am converted and made a couple up myself for summer 2011.

The Purple Haze worked good for me off French Creek last year.
So did the straight Chrome Plaid.
(July-August)

Earlier on the one that has Green/ Yellowy Gold/Chrome tape (May)

And also the Hotspot that is Clear Chartreuse body with the semi-shiny metal finish on it. (May to end of June).
