Fishing regulation question

I did read the regs online but could not find this answer.

I am going salmon fishing with friends in the ocean. I like to eat salmon eggs and my friends dont. Can I take all their roe home with me or is their some rule?

If I can't have it...they will all just go into the garbage.

eat the roe, good to go!!! hell eat the arse too!! slivo's dad serves up fried sperm sac. gag!!

I know there use to be a reg for how much roe you could have in your possession this came up with a dfo officer while bar fishing one time too
but I cant seem to find that now, it even applied to cured roe as well, I believe it was only a couple pounds? I cant be sure but there is a reg for it somewhere, maybe call dfo

Pretty sure if you buddies give you their share that's fine but they need to write a letter staring so. Date, lic number ect. That used to be the way a while back.

The BC freshwater regulations (pg 9) say that you are only allowed to be in possession of 1 kg of roe for use as bait unless you are in possession of the fish it came from, or commercially bought with receipt. I cannot find anything for tidal waters though so you should be OK, but it may be smart to call.
