Hey FM, just tell us who it is so we can advise friends or families, obviously they have no company morals
so exposing them would be for the best.

Bs'er and over promiser' are in every business. THey take care of themselves. i.e you can only ******** people for so long before you run out of people to ********.

Who ya guiding for these days FM? I know some guys had an issue with a guide on this board giving "fabricated" reports. They called him on it and well... he doesn't post them on here anymore.

So my question to the board is, what to do about this problem?

It takes all kinds to make the world turn man..

What goes around comes around.... I believe in Karma

I've seen this several times over 24 yrs i have guided here. It sucks for everyone involved in the local industry.

Unfortunately there isn't much you can do (legally, he he). All you can do is take the high road, keep your nose clean, keep providing honest reports and focus on providing your clients with a great product and wait for the offenders to die on the vine....it always happens eventually.

Charter operations are built on integrity. I belive that an operator that would bs about fishing reports is bad for everyone.
That being said, I am sure they will run themselves out of the business. (with a little help)

It is just as important to have the respect of your fellow operators as it is to have it from your clients. Clients will either sense or hear about the lack of respect the bs'er has in his community. (eventually)

every profession out there has them, from mechanics, plumbers whatever sooner rather than later their butt is on fire and in this case their ship full of bs is goin down!!! remember theres no advertising better than word of mouth!

X2 x3 X4 and X5 ABSOLUTELY

All the fishing reports I read for Vancouver's Saltwater are all pretty much accurate for the most part. Not always perfectly up to date but pretty decent info. I have never read anything that got me too worried or bothered as FM seems to be reporting.
Vancouver's BCSFGA members seem to provide pretty accurate and informative reports as do some non-members. There is however the odd operation out there in Van that are not BCSFGA members that I don't seek fishing reports from so have no idea how inaccuate those fishing reports could be. These operations don't necessarily have their Transport Canada certifications either so not surprising to me that they may also be fabricating information or be untruthful about anything !
Thats life --- just keep your own nose clean, move on and realize there's bad apples out there in all 'walks' of life.

I hear ya Peahead. I know you know who I'm talking about and it's not someone we'll ever see around the BCSFGA table. We work hard to build, promote and maintain the reputation of the industry in Vancouver and it's tough when that firm benefits indirectly from everyone else's hard work.
