Fisherman catches eagle!

Hambone beat ya by an hour in there vidya thread, old man ;)

Should have left the bird alone I've seen a number of Eagles end up swimming after they clamped onto fish too big for them-they just swam to shore dragged their soggy asses out and dried off.

I wouldn't say no to holding an eagle

I've landed two birds to date. Giant gulls offshore fishing tuna. One was very relaxed and let me remove the hook and set him free. The other was not quite so friendly and aggressively attacked my hands in the process.
It would be cool to hold an eagle, but only if you got the friendly one! lol. I've caught and held a few hummingbirds as a kid when they would get trapped in the garage. Those little guys are pretty cool!

Its very surreal when humans can help a wild animal in distress and the animal knows they are there to help. A short bond is formed between man and beast. Incredible nature!

I laughed pretty hard at the stink eye the eagle was giving the cameraman as he was reeled in. Another good West Coast Vid.

Gannet that committed suicide down in Tonga guess he was just that hungry.

they also get exhausted and drown, sadly.. good on them to help him out.. heard of them clamping on to too big o fish and gettin dragged down. or stealing my flasher with a lil rock cod on it, and watching it dangle in a tree 200' up. love feeding them, they basically start screamin at ya when a rock fish is up to the boat. my kid feeds a few eagles perch off the dock in bam..

When I was working on the spit in Campbell river as a lad I saw this eagle getting dragged around half submerged in the estuary. Went to have a look in my 16' tinny and it was ankle deep into a big chinook. I used a paddle to pry the bugger loose and he sort of flap paddled to some dry ground way deep into the estuary. He hung out for an hour or so and took flight. Was pretty funny this eagle thinking he could fly off with a tyee but I guess it happens a lot.

when I put the fresh anchovy on it and I released it before I put the line on the release clip, the seagull grab the bait. I cut off the leader, I let the bird go.
I saw some fishermen killed seagulls when the birds stolen the bait. The angry fishermen kill them hit with the graft.
