Fish Landing Net???

I have a couple of fishing nets and they both do the job, but one has the limp netting and seems to get caught up on everything and the other has a rather stiff material and is a bit of a pain when it is being stored. As an alternative to these two netting materials is any one using the black rubber type net? It appears that this type of net would be better if the fish is going to be released and there is less of a chance of it snagging the hook or hanging up on something on the boat.
Thanks

Had both until the rubberized version grew wings one day. Both styles seem to get tangled up, so not much of an advantage. The fine meshed release nets to catch the wind, so be careful if you drop them into a net holder tube...they fly like eagles in wind gusts.

I had a big scotty but then switched to the big C&R net with fine mesh. To be honest the C&R net still takes to much scales/slime off of fish so i just release them with a gaff boatside. If you want a C&R then the make sure its rubber coated mesh. Whatever you choose make sure its large. I shake my head at people trying to net big springs with small nets.

searun,
Thanks for the heads up - at the cost of a new net and the possibiliy of loosing one, I guess I will stick to what I have.

kelly, I hear you, both of my nets are big.

Gibbs makes a foam handle and rim net..I believe they float.... if they decide to go for a swim... :)

I filled the handle of my net with some spray foam. now it floats. Did this to the gaff at the same time. To get it all the way down the handle, I used some wood dowel to push it down to the end.
