Fish box in floor good for ice?

I have a kingfisher 2525 and I want to try out the infloor fish box. Does anyone have experience using an uninsulated infloor fish box? I’ve always just brought a day cooler with ice but I would love to make room on deck and put ice in and use the built in fish box.

That model doesn't hold ice well, but it works fine if you start with enough ice and only use it for day trips. We held our ice in soft coolers in there until we started catching.

Harbour chandler has a few different sized kill bags that work well for the in floor “ice” boxes.

Sweet thanks, I’ve sent an email to Wilderness Pack Specialisties with dimensions aswell for a price. I kinda figured ice wouldn’t last as aluminum is such a great conductor…..

Could always buy some sheet insulation from the hardware store they sell various thickness and types and line it yourself keeping the drains and whatnot would be a ton cheaper and would only loose a fraction of the original size but it would sure keep the fish and ice better

I have the 2825 and for the price they work decent. I’m sure there are better ones out there but I bought two of the big ones at the time for $89 each.
