Hey folks
Can someone tell me how one goes about getting his own fire wood in the Comox valley area?
Coming from 30 years in the Okanogan things seem rather complicated here?
All we had to do is go get a 10 dollar provincial firewood permit and then go up in the bush and cut down any dead standing tree we wanted off of any forest access road or logging road we decided to go to. We never bothered trying to scrape out good wood from slash piles or crap like that.
Everyone I ask here says you got to wait for logging shows to advertise opportunities in the left over’s. I know I could just buy from someone, but the whole thing of getting my own is the day in the bush and the fact it will not cost me 200 +++ for a pickup truck load.
Any info on procedures and locations would be very much appreciated.
