Fire Takes Out The "Quinnie" Last Night...

Pretty sure a few of you have had a beer in the old Pub back in the day, as have I.

Used to live next door in Mrs. William's boarding house in 1963 when I was but 18 and couldn't drink in the pub yet. One of the guys also boarding would buy me a six pack for the weekend sometimes.

Later, whilst serving in the Navy, I had an unfortunate incident involving getting really drunk, barfing on myself then passing out in the bathtub in the room I'd had the foresight to rent earlier. Old pal Pete Awalt found me and dragged my now wrinkly butt out of the tub before I either drowned or froze to death. LOL

Good times.

Few pics in the story.

Sad day in Campbell River.

Take care.

Great stories Dave, and I'm sure the old place will be missed. I never actually was in there, but heard many "Quinnie" stories.

Can I get ahead of the que and volunteer as a rod holder for a prime time ? (Non prime time completely works as well) :)

I emptied a few glasses in that place back in the 1980's. I love all those old beer parlour hotels and the Quinsam was one of my favourites. Sadly they are all burning down, one-by-one.

Sure thing. Venture a date or two and I'll slot you in.

Maybe PM me when you know what date you'd like.

Take care.

A lot of draft and so many good times there. Matter of fact there was this gorgeous red head... oops... well, you know...
