Find me a Grady White 228 Seafarer

I've looked over the 232 pictures and don't see any red flags at all.The right power for sure.No bottom paint is a plus,you never know what is hidden under paint. I'd want more pictures,engine inspection, and survey before considering an offer.

Your looking for repaired damage,hard to do by looking at pictures,you have to rely on a good surveyor for that.But I'd want to see interior pictures,inside hatches,dashboard wiring,transom hardware and electrical.What's included?Electronics-new.old.working?
 
If you can swing a deal on a 232 and have enough room in your yard I think it's way more boat than the 228 although I always wanted a 228. I owned a 208 and found it tight between the helm seats with the walk around deck.The 232 has a foot wider beam approx.that makes a huge difference to deck and cuddy interior space.
 
I have a 1991 232 and it was originally plumbed with copper tubing for the hydraulic steering and it failed. Check to see that it has been replaced with standard hydraulic hoses.
 
I’ve surveyed a US boat and been severely disappointed. There are great surveyors out there but have 2 to 3 sets of eyes on a boat is a good idea. If the Florida 232 doesn’t sell by the weekend it probably has something wrong with it in my opinion. Best way is to verify if the seller is legit and send a refundable deposit and fly down to look. Like online dating don’t get to excited, make a trip out of it and don’t get too committed to any one girl until the sea trial goes well. Sorry boat.
