Experimental halibut program

Has anyone heard what’s going on with this program? With the current Reg’s and size limit I am thinking this may be a viable option to get some halibut in the freezer. Sucks we have been thrown looking at this option but if a 50 pound halibut costs me $500 in quota that is cheap compared to my costs of travelling west, lodging, fuel bait…….

Not sure how this quota is going to save you travel costs? Either you fish for hali or not but the hali regs are the same everywhere in BC.
