I didn't know him well personally but certainly met him once or twice and knew of his efforts over the years.

Yeah, he was very helpful and always willing to share a story. I had the pleasure of fishing next to him a few times on the Cap.. I thought I was mimicking what he was doing pretty well, but didn't do nearly as well as he did....
