Yowza - those G2s get no love.
There is a guy who runs one of these motors on a little 18ft 1980s era speedboats (metallic flake and all) in the Pitt River. Every few weeks I see him absolutely screaming up the river, seems like the gunnels are maybe 12" above the water, running probably twice the power that god intended for the hull. Puts a smile on my face and reminds me of an old Merc 'Tower of Power'

You aren’t kidding! The V6 200xl is kinda tempting, like 200hp for the springtime price of 150hp

The early run 250s and 300s had a lot of power head failures, and the digital power steering was and is troublesome. But the dealers and mechanic members on the Etec owners forum rate the 3 cylinder G2s (115-150 hp) as the best motors E ever made.
