Electric Driveway Gate Installation Wiring Question

Reaching out to those with superior electrical knowledge than me, preferably electricians.
I am installing an electric gate at the end of our driveway. It is approximately 100 meters away from a power source.
I have been told that it will possibly require 8 AWG wire because of the length of the run.
I am wondering if this is a bit of overkill.

Any assistance would be appreciated.
The line will be buried.

It says 14ga on page 22 of the installation manual.

that is a fairly long run so there will be some voltage drop for sure , im assuming there is a small motor and some electronics its feeding. to ensure you have no voltage issues i probably wouldn't be any smaller #10, was it the gate installers that recommended #8 ?

@triplenickel, thanks for finding that in the manual. 14 AWG up to 107 meters, 350 feet. The gate installation folks merely set it all up and provide a 110 volt receptacle.

We just ran #10 around 310 feet on a project. The power runs to a sub panel and the motors are fed with low voltage 18gauge.
