Drive time, Campbell river to fair harbour

Howdy all,

Can somebody give me a ballpark drive time from CR to Fair harbour? Just a pickup truck, no boat.

We’re fishing with Murphy late July, pretty fired up about it too!!

By Google Maps 225 kms and 9 hrs and 38 min drive

It ain’t 9:38hrs. I’d give it 4 hrs max, probably closer to 3. Conditions of the FSR & amount of traffic will dictate how fast you can go. It’s a nice drive so no rush. 4 hrs will give you some time for breaks along the way. I’m sure there are local guys who can chime in on the conditions of the road
And how active it is. A few days at Murphy’s sounds pretty awful, how you’re gonna be okay. Prime time.

Ya 1hr to Woss, another 1hr to zeballos, and another 45 to fair harbour, assuming your going along at a decent clip on the dirt and don’t get a flat tire, and don’t stop

Bank on 3 hrs plus pee breaks from CR I guess.

Watch for logging traffic, and local traffic. Getting into the silly season now…

I used to drive to the zeballos area every day for work from McNeil. Seen a lot of trucks and boats stranded on the FSR… take two spares if you drive it like it’s a rental lol

I’ve made that drive many times, you should allow 4hrs from CR. I pull my boat in there and it takes almost twice that time( 87km on the dirt).If your going with Murphy’s you likely need to be at Fair Harbour no later than 3pm. They have the precise driving directions on their Website .

i Live in CR and drove the North Island for most of my adult life. if you can make it to fair harbour in three hours from CR like others above have posted, you obviously have a death wish. with absolute perfect conditions it’s 40 minutes to sayward, and hour and 40 minutes to zeballos turn off. road to zeballos is about an hour and from zeballos to fair harbour is honestly a bit foggy but it’s at least another hour out of zeballos. the road is usually quite well maintained but the steeper grades going into zeballos are very stabby. i blew two tires coming out of zeballos in my van because it’s two wheel drive and they lost traction and slipped, slicing the tires in the process. good times.
