Campbell River Hotels

I'm traveling up from the U.S. in late July for my annual Critter Cove trip. At the end of the trip the tide is too low in the morning for me to take out and make it to Victoria in time for the ferry ride home. So, I'd like to pull the boat out the night before on the flood and spend the night in Gold River or Campbell River. I've heard the hotel in GR is closed for renovations, so I'm looking at Campbell River.

Can someone recommend a reasonably priced hotel for 3 guys? Obviously, it needs to have parking space for a truck and 24' boat.

Yes the DI has good parking, but it is a bit too close to the corner of Crack and Wh@re streets for me to sleep well at night with a rigged up boat outside.

yeh, Big Rock it is. Nice big lot easy to turn around in and stay hooked up if need be. It’s right on the water and way south of hostile territory. Book a ground floor room in case you want to schlep some goodies inside for the night.

What I've done a couple of times is pull into the campsite at Alder Bay and sleep on the boat for the night. Then get an early start in the morning. They used to have a great food truck there for dinner.

It’s tough to please everyone, but don’t leave food out for stray cats !!

The local RCMP are also under a lot of scrutiny by some
