Downrigger issues

Hi and thanks in advance.
Like an idiot I tried to pry the tab out a bit on my downrigger connection a bit with a knife while it was hot. The result was a spark and non-functioning side (the rigger still works on the other side.) Is it likely I fried a fuse?

Yup. Did you wire it? If you did you will know where the fuse is. If you didn't wire it check around cause there might be more than one. Check for in line fuse near battery and/or fuse block where all the other fuses should be.

Scotty recommends a 30 amp fuses but these aren’t regular 30 amp fuses or at least it should not be. Generally a large fuse holder and fuse is used. If it’s done properly that is.

It will probably be one of these three types of 30 amp fuse holders. Might be hooked to a bus bar as well if your boat has those.
