Now that, if it works, would be really cool! A diving downrigger weight would sure reduce blow back and remove some of the "guesswork" especially when trolling in areas where currents vary with depth.......

There are lots of different planers around-they create a tremendous amount of drag and I have yet to see one that as efficient as a lead sphere.
