If you are only using the Burnewiin for rod holders and not as down rigger mounts, you can save a bunch and go with GM400 or GM300 bases which are around $80 ea and then get the rod holder of your choice.
Another option is a true flush mount holder if you have clearance. They have a 30-degree angle. I actually still have these available - you can take all four for $50. https://sportfishingbc.com/threads/flush-mount-rod-holders.67437/
Honestly, I would keep the dual rod holder base that you have and reposition the forward holder so it positions the rod in your preferred position.

Those are bit different than boom mounted. I wouldn't run them myself. If your going to that deck style a striker might be better.

Ya, I have the fushmount female and then the scott rod holders ahead of the rigger. Works ok. But for kids and shorter people, and to make it easier with no risk of a broken rod holder, I've also been looking at drilling holes and installing a flush mount rod holder.
Pros and cons.
I like being able to have my hali rod mounted this way, but am prepared to put the hali rod in the downrigger holder if I go to flush mounts. Will see if this ends up being an off season change, or if I just stick with how I have it set.

Nothing endures like the temporary.
I really like my setup. 16.5’ Lund and I mocked up a few knee brace fighting stations with flush mount rod holders. So good. Hook a fish, grab the rod, lock into the knee brace and you are totally secure regardless of wave action. Nobody staggers around any more.
Also great for setting gear because both hands can be used. Best upgrade!

I made a retriever using the bottom half of an old mooching rod, with a 10/0 hook epoxied into the hollow shaft.

Very creative!
I use a 3/16” stainless rod with bend. The rod with hook sounds smart- I probably have 4 spare rod bottoms that will never be used for anything else

Thanks! Fly fishing drift boats use them and bone fishing flats boats use them… why not salmon boats? Very helpful.

These are definitely safer, but take a piece of strong string and tie the rod holder to the boat for added security
