Derby's Canuck emporium

...the buck stops in Winterpeg...:p

...gee what about that Classic...finish...:)

Miss it... family day...just about to grab some of my fishing gear and a beer and watch the tube.. It could be a good game tonight if the nucks team for the other night shows up..:)

Yep, it's a classic...when Haks lose & Vechy goes on his goal ritual...
Outta the loop...another Nucks game ya don't say...:)

Should be a good game Nucks 4-2.... think I'm maybe more interested in seeing Searun hiding behind his wife & this sign at the game...;)

That was a sour one.....

That team that deserved to win did.

yup..deserved a little better out come... not super happy about the referee's tonight.... not saying we lost because of them but not super good calls tonight... guess searun was able to leap out behind his wife and catch a puck... & someone else like his wife's sign..... ;)

Canucks are being doubled in the shots department for the last few games, they are lucky that Miller has been decent although he should have stopped the winning goal last night to scratch out a point. When you are barely playing .500 hockey in the last 13 games, goals are going to start going in on Miller regardless of how good he is, it's just math.

I was at least hoping they would make it to OT!

..miller probably would like 2 of the goals back.. they are being outshot a long season...we'll see what happens... but its much better hockey then what we saw last year..... yup was hoping we would have pulled a point out of the game..

Ha Ha, despite the score it was a fun experience. I haven't been to a live game in years. We had so much fun. To start with my wife made up a fancy sign for Kevin, then at the warm up got on the glass where he was warming up. He wondered over for a look, smiled and every time he cycled through would tap the glass on the sign. Edler wasn't about to let that go un-noticed so he took slap shots (deadly accurate) at the sign. Smiling all the time. I'm sure the boys gave Bieksa a hard time in the dressing room after the pre-game skate.

She had so much fun with that stupid sign. A number of people offered her up to $100 for it. A couple of Kevin's friends stopped us after the game and got a few pics to send to him. So a lot of fun, including a few moments on the big jumbo tron (her minute of fame) ;)

The game puck was a hoot. I think it was Bieksa who shot the puck over the glass and it sailed just over the head of a lady sitting across the aisle from me landing in my wife's bag...almost special delivery.

So a few take aways from the experience.

1. The Canucks lost because they are not creating traffic in front of the net and taking shots so they capitalize on rebounds.

2. Man are they fast, way faster live than on the tube.

3. That puck bounces around way more than you see on TV - those guys have amazing hand/eye coordination

4. When you think they hit hard - Yup you can feel the impact - or at least could could from where we sat 6 rows up.

5. When Sedin blocked a shot...man I could feel the impact, blocking shots is punishing. More than I recall from my playing days.

6. There are a lot of BS calls not made. Worse one I saw was when Hansen got a stick in the mouth when he was in front of Quick...the Ref was standing right there...NO call. Total BS. Hansen had a few choice words for the ref that they don't play on TV.

7. I was surprised at how big Anze Kopitar is. Always thought he was a small guy...NOT. Gaborik is similar.

Forgot one other observation. Miller is one cool cat. Nothing seems to faze him. even when there are brush ups in front of him he is so focused on what he has to do. That guy does not get rattled. He is always intense. When you are that close you can see his focus...all the time. Never lets up even when play is going the other way. He was definitely the difference for the Canucks.
