I assume there is a very low chance of getting Vibrio that will kill you or end in removing an appendage. Wear gloves, don't scratch yourself and keep a bottle of disinfectant close would seem to be prudent precautions.
Do we have much in the way of Vibrio of this nasty type in our waters?
