Daily Dummy

Hey Tips, Lets say All of they Above! When i was leaving at about 1:30 is was the biggest gong show i have ever seen. Nutty. The ramp was so congested! I looked at my dad and said this is why we pay moorage! [:p] Scary to think what next weekend will look like!

Today there was no daily dummy!

A few weeks ago , there was a guy power washing the bottom of his boat at cheanuh on the ramp, with boats waiting to launch and come out. There was a guy flushing his motors at sunny shores. There are also guys that have launched there boats on the ramp [Isl. Outfitters.]. I forgot the drain plug once was wondering why my feet were getting wet, put the plug in and turned the bilge pump on, if I wasn't swearing I don't think anybody would have noticed.

Hey boys, it aint going away, thats the pain we gotta go through to go bang on'em.....deal with it.....yes, it sucks! Once again it is a pink year, thre are coho around, and some good spring fishing....The newbs will come out of the wood work. Just wait until we have a good fall fishery and sites like this and certain tackle stores hype the crap out of things....stop your complaining or better idea stay at home....sorry to be rude but somebody had to say it. Stop bitcn and lets go fisn, lol! We all started as newbs at one time!!!

Skate are a wonderful fish to eat. I love it. Very popular in the UK and very expensive. Great fish and chips. Actually in the UK most of the fish sold as skate is actually thornback ray. All the ray family are good to eat if you prepare them correctly. I always used to cut the wings off and discard the rest. Use pliers to remove the skin. Then cut in portion size strips through the cartilage, no bones in skate. Dip in you favorite beer batter and deep fry. Delicious. I haven't eaten any since I left the UK, one of the things I miss. Don't knock it until you've tried it. It's much better than rock salmon (dogfish).

Sometimes it's nice to be able to vent a little. Probably better than launching a lead weight through some of the idiots windshields on the water. Maybe some of these guys deserve to be called on their actions on the water. Being extremely discourteous, violating the rules, or downright dangerous driving, deserve to have the clowns numbers or pictures posted. Maybe identifying these jerks might smarten them up a little.

I strongly agree but don't let other idiots ruin your day. Lets face it we could go on and on and on about the stuff that happens at the ramp, water, cleaning tables, ect. Lets get back to talking fishing. If you want to relly help with these problems calmy explain to these people how their actions f up everyone else, hopefully a light bulb will go off, just my 2 cents. Iam done with this thread!! If I wanted to hear bitchn all day I would hang out with my old lady, have fun boys, Iam going fishing....

Seen lots of 3-lb springs at the cleaning station that were
called "Pinks".
Scarey when they don't know how to identify them...
:(

Saw 2 sockeye about 2 weeks ago, apparently they were Coho's and what got me was when i said they were socks, he said no cohos, but they both had huge adipose fins on them[xx(][V] and last year i saw a guy cleaning 2 fish one 14 and the other about 18 and they were both wild coho's, When I said they were coho's he said, Nah cohos dont get this big. And it was like 5th of october.

My favorite-3 years ago a 30 ft boat from Idaho asked me which way the Ocean was at the Gold River ramp-I asked him if he had a chart-he did-it was a u.s. army topo. I saw him 3 days later hauling out with one outdrive very badly damaged.

At Otter today somebody had 2 crab traps set right in the middle of the tack off second rock. WTF? It's a big ocean full of places that aren't popular salmon tacks to set your crab gear.

While visiting in Bamfield years ago, I have witnessed:

a 40 ft trawler Yacht proceeded to stop at the wharf. It went bit fast to get close to the dock. It rammed a sailboat that moored there. A captain ran on the deck to the bow and tried to push the sailboat away with his legs. He realized the trawler yacht was too big. RAMMMMM!
