On sale again, bought two loin about 20" length, left in the fridge overnight and cut into 1" steaks, repackaged into two steak packs and vac sealed.

We used to buy the Ovation brand of NZ lamb. Now its untrimmed. Thought of using the waste for crab or prawn bait, but no. Bought another set of these this morning. Set for a while
I still have 3 from the last sale. This thread is great but I've become a meat sale addict. Gotta slow down and eat a bunch of it nowGrab mine yesterday

I was at Save on Foods at Tillicum Mall and they had lots of racks to choose from at 930am. Picked up 6 Racks and the average price worked out to be $16 each.
I still had one rack in the freezer from last year's eight racks I purchased, so I pulled it out to BBQ it tomorrow. I checked out the last year's price $60.60 kg and this year's price is still $60.60. I was surprised seeing almost everything I buy has gone up in price in the last few months. Specially all meats.

Country Grocer has AA rib roast on for $15.87 this coming week. Thriftys has AAA Rib roast for 30% off (something) as well.

We wanted to have steak last night.
At Costco rib eyes packs with 3 steaks were all about $100. Maybe it was around $50/kg.
Prime rib was around $28/kg though...
I bought a big 3 bone roast for $107 and cut 6 huge steaks from it, plus had the 3 big beef ribs. Grilled 1 steak and the ribs last night for the 3 of us... plus 5 big steaks in the freezer. I'm thinking now I should have bought a few roasts just to cut up for ribeyes.

Costco generally has better quality beef too so that's a great price. I took a look at the "AAA" at Superstore and it was pathetic as usual.

It was not. No intramuscular fat whatsoever. Also poorly butchered with most pieces being end cuts and not squared up at all. To be fair this could have just been what was leftover, but the case was full.

We buy just about all our meat at Costco. We get the whole Strip Lion beef and pork and cut up steaks out of them. I get about 16-20 steaks form the Beef so about $14 a steak and about 20 out of the pork so$1.50 each. can't get much cheaper then that.

Can’t beat Safeway price a quality when they have deals at least. Costco definitely has the decent quality too.
Beef seems to be a rich man’s meal now . Was gonna get a brisket at Costco but was hard to justify 140 bucks for one. What happened to the 3.99 lb deals those days are long gone
