Everyone should put a small, subtle identifying marking on riggers, sounders, rods and reels etc in an inconspicuous spot. Something like a tiny unique etching or nail polish mark.
Engrave your DL # somewhere subtle.

Bottom of the motor housing is where I have my marksEngrave your DL # somewhere subtle.
I have bought them off of public sites like craigslist with no issues , i'm going to guess most criminals usually have them sold before they Rip em off , I don't think they're stupid enough to actually post it publicly
, so don't be detoured by buying things from craigslist , I think this is been hit way too hard lately , My transactions were smooth , When you meet the seller it would be quite obvious ,
Lets move on , buyer use some common sense

What's obvious about buying stolen merchandise?
How about the guys who were busted 2 years ago with 6 downriggers an outboard and rods and reels, Islanders etc right at the mouth of False Creek? If it weren't for one alert guy who happened to be awake at 6 am and actually saw something suspicious they would have gotten away. Similarly a local guide had his boat ripped off 3 years ago and another guide I know had his rods and reels jacked right from his cuddy.
When you buy off Craigslist beware....that's prudent. Similarly one guy who had Islanders for sale in Coquitlam.... almost all the time....some with lodge engravings....things that make you go hmmmmmm....
...Bill of sale?... As a reasonable person, if anyone off of Craigs asked to take a pic of my DL to buy used goods from me, I would tell them to pound sand. I have nothing to hide, but F/O.
I don't really see what this would prove ?
