Is there an opening for Coho retention on the river this year. If not can you sport fish, catch n release, for Coho? Should I check FN on the dfo site?

The river has had an in season closure since the summer in the freshwater regulations due to low water originally was the claim, I expected it to be rescinded when the wet weather started like in the past but alas it still remains. Historically there would be a in season opening for salmon before the 15 of November usually the first week of the month but I wouldn't expect that to happen at this point before the 15 of November, I have heard rumors as to what and why this is happening but at the end of the day it seems year to year we loose some of our angling/outdoor rights.

There should be a Fisheries Notice stating that the river will open to Coho retention Nov 1st ..

Thank you for that welcome update derby here is the notice it is a bit complex with the boundaries changing on the 16th.
