Commander 26 Re Build

I really need to prioritize what needs to be done first. I really want my pod and motors on, bring her back to the shop, and finish the interior and everything else. I’m not liking keeping Lordship waiting, all I need is my helm and batteries installed and they will to take the boat for motors as is.

Here’s a
Nice thing about the railing is you can mount things
BBQ and 4 riggers

Here’s my quick list to get my motors on:

1-paint top
2-Windows install
3-Rub rail install
4-deck install
5-paint deck
6-v berth
7-helm
8-batteries
9-Lordship pod/motors

Ya, I’m thinking about lowering it a bit now that the deck is lowered
Be mindful of where and how high you mount the rails. Keep in mind there will be times where you want to lean on or bend over your gunnels without breaking your ribs. Not a big fan of rails but in the right spots they are useful for sure. IMO

If your a serious fisherman mount them forward. But if you are only an occasional fisherman then I would mount them on the pads in the back. Almost every 26 and 30 has them in the back. Otherwise they are in the way in my opinion.
On my 30 they are mounted on the rail at back corner.
I do get why it is easier to clip on when you can stand in front.

Your going to **** Doug off if you wanna put those engines on before the rest of the boat is built. Just putting that out there

Even funnier, I’m thinking of dropping David the boat the way it is on Monday. He has waited long enough and has expressed that to me. I hate to keep these guys waiting, and I don’t want to wait, I want the deal done bring the boat back and finish it…. Slow and steady

First coat is on, was hoping to get all 5 done but spraying the top is very awkward as once you spray you run out of room to stand. The boat looks great however all the irregularities came out and will have to apply some gel coat paste before the next passes.

Was just reading my motor suppliers latest email pushing me to get my boat in for motors Asap.
I think the time is come to drop my boat off for the pod and motors. Sorry Doug no hard feelings, but I think your boss wants to close this deal, I’m sure you understand,Monday time to go to Lordship, call Anisur, let’s figure out how to get this pod and motors on while I’m getting marrried.

It’s supposed to be an exciting day with some fresh gel but instead I’m thinking about Lordship and my motors… here’s some pics B3A49BB2-35E7-4854-AA42-819D0A47E544.jpeg58B35DD1-D50A-4E3E-9194-EDEACDE2D2EC.jpegA558BA60-3BC5-4488-95DA-BC6B2E721EB3.jpeg4D428590-3F1F-40FD-81A1-89DDF39D20F5.jpeg

So smooth it almost looks fake. She gonna be a beauty when your done. Especially once the command bridge is in place.

It might just be the angle of the picture but it looks like the hull angles in past the vertical of the inside of your gunnel.

If you put a straight edge on the inside does it hit the floor or the hull? If it hits the hull it is going to be uncomfortable standing and fishing.
The best way is if there is room for your feet to go straight while your thighs or mid section touch the gunnel. As the boat rolls this allows you brace yourself against the gunnel.
By lowering the floor you may have changed that geometry.
If your feet are like this then your thighs or higher should be against the gunnel for comfort
