That's only the second one I've ever seen. Awesome.
There is a pretty good build history on their facebook page. The 600lb gyro stabilizer they put in is pretty cool

It does not appear to be a flotation pod, and they also added that 600 pound device. The weight they removed must have been substantial.There is a pretty good build history on their facebook page. The 600lb gyro stabilizer they put in is pretty cool

I refer to the Commander 30 in Alaska with new twin 300's and the stabilizer. I wonder what it had for dual power and weight that was removed to only need a bracket, and not a flotation pod, after adding the conversion power and stabilizer.
It's a PDR pod so I'm sure it was well designed...

no doubt, just an observation of its design and not needing the stern lift via flotation. Was hoping for a closer pic of the back of the boat.

If they had the Volvo 41 series they weigh about 1200 pounds each. A 5.7L gas is about 1100 pounds. So they had at least 2200 pounds of weight removed. The 300HP Suzuki's weight 660 pounds each so 1320. Add 623 pounds for gyro leaves 250 pounds for pod. So overall about even.
The other 30 I saw podded needed to add weight in the back to adjust trim. So batteries were moved to stern and another fuel tank where engines were

This is your chance! Drive the boat up there and get them to pod it. Then spend the summer fishing in Alaska before coming back down the coast fishing all the way.
You can also have it barged up there. Heard it is pretty reasonable and barges go almost daily.Just don't put that anchor windlass on it. Ruins the look but seems to be an Alaska thing.
