coho on the beach

I herd they closed the upper hatchery on puntlage where they keep the coho fry a few years back after the warm water morte.find them 14-22k north west of your handle. They are one tide cycle behind this year.2weeks ,hope for fishable days,

Made the trip there early .walked around for hours found one 13lbs. Kept and came home. Fish are not in schools and along 8km of beach that i walked and glassed.Others i spoke too said they don't know were they are this year. There have only had 3-4 days of rain and fog so i think i might make the trip again in a week.i plan to try the beaches north of parksville south of denman ,gartly for hightide?and a night at the resort for another walk.

The puntledge hatchery can not keep coho in the hatchery due to water temperatures. They transport them to comox lake, 1/4 of there 800,000 are clipped. I've been getting into fish at other local beaches, they are there just need to look. They seem to be hanging around beaches that are not know for coho.

And to answer the question, I don't even tell my wife where I'm fishing!

Lots of beautiful cohos around Saratoga, oyster river and salmon point beaches.
They are hard to catch, I'm still triing to figure out a good fly.

I just came back from my parents in Qualicum, we slayed em from their backyard. Brass spoons with orange. South of the Little Q.
