Coho fishing

I fished Sekiu last week. It is across from Jordan River. I had seen a post on the Sooke reports of success with a red hoochie with a glow insert. I used a regular size red one with the Everglow ghost flash fly 2 1/2 " It outfished bait, spoons and white glow hoochie. Might be worth a try for those of you targeting Coho in Oct.

I run this on one side with a uv white hootchie on the other. A purple haze flasher & a madi on the other side. Uber productive for. 'ho's.

I am biased, but the best skirt for a hoochie is the 4' white needlefish grand slam bucktail. Best combo is in a clear UV hoochie.

Big flash fly fan but would recommend retying the hooks. Have had the trailer hook break off on the last few out of the package when in Kyuquot this year. Did send them an email as to whether or not they were having any quality control issues but heard little back.

This was my best coho setup this season by far for the June/July madness. Gonna give it a couple go’s on the chuck soon.

I like these white GSB’s… tied on a 5” herring version in winter harbour and never took it off (more so for springs, and bottom fish).
